II II Abstract Today, more and more people participate in socioeconomic relation, becoming the investors and consumers of the development of community economy. They need to master a vast amount of socioeconomic information which can give more props for their decisions. However, the usual economic news can not meet their needs any more, so they need to read the professional in-depth economic news to keep their hold on economic development. Southern Weekly, Chinas most widely circulated weekly newspaper, whose economic news covers a quarter of its type area, plays an important role in economic development. This thesis tries to analyze the economic news of Southern Weekly from its contents, plot and narration, and finds its HYPERLINK /Characteristic/ characteristic aspects on in-depth reporting. The characteristic aspects which enlighten other newspapers to do in-depth report are summarized as selecting subjects boldly, supervising boldly, speaking out boldly, analyzing HYPERLINK /significant/ significant events timely, doing report which is transcendent to economic viewpoint, narrating the facts as stories, and reporting professionally and popularly. At the same time, this thesis also researches into the qualities for the professional economic reporters. In a word, this thesis tries to provide more worthwhile suggestion for those comprehensive newspapers which are trying to do economic in-depth report by analyzing the economic in-depth reporting from Southern Weekly, hoping that it can create more on this field.
