Abs Abstract PAGE PAGE iii Abstract Along with the promotion of China’s economic strength, the film industry has achieved a very impressive achievement. As one of the supporting bodies of culture, movie industry not only has the economic meaning, the more important thing is to transfer the characteristic of Chinese culture to the world, let more and more people know about China from the films, and understand China.Although at present, Chinas film industry is developing strongly, it has showed the characteristics of small scale and low output.In terms of the reality of our country, the development of film industry is still rely mainly on domestic consumers. The performance of movie box-office has a close relationship with consumer behavior and the film market normalization , or even the birth and death of the movies. So producing the movies which be loved by the domestic consumers will become the important guarantee of success in the films market, and to maintain the corporate profitability and important basis for the prosperity of the film industry. Western, especially the American scholars have studied the film industry for many years, the scope also covers various aspects of industry, including consumer, issuing, production, etc.But most domestic academic studies of the film industry treat film as an art, the studies have just basically concentrate on the fields of art, aesthetic, and sociology, especially lacking the empirical research of film industry. At the same time, the development of Chinese film industry started late, today the domestic market does not reach full maturity, thus it is failing to form a system based on market and industry research theory. This study choose college students as an important part of the Chinese film audience group during the research object, and after reading a lot of foreign literatures , the study extracts six film characteristic factors which will affect the viewing behavior of college students, including film characteris
