M ethod s　The h istop athological findings of the su rgical sp ecim en s of 14 p atien ts w ith chondrob lastic o steo sarcom a were comp ared w ith enhancem en t p attern s on enhanced MR im age s. Results　 In chondrob la stic o steo sarcom a sep tal and p eripheral rim enhance m ent rep re sented tumou r w ith a pu re chondroid m atrix. Nonenhancing and heterogeneou s enhancing area s rep resen ted tumou r w ith both chondro id and o steoid m atrix. Con clusion　Enhanced MR im aging can assist in ob tain ing diagno stic b iop sy m aterial of chon drob la stic o steo sarcom a by identifying both o steo id and chondroidform ing area s.
