Abstract According to Vershueren, language use is a dynamic process of a language user consciously adapting to context. The contextual adaptability indicates the adaptability to communicative context and linguistic context in communicating. Translation is regarded as a dynamic process of adaptability to the context of original text and target text. In this paper, the author elaborates the application of contextual adaptability to the translation of international business contracts. In the first place, the author gives a general introduction of the translation researches on international business contract both at home and abroad. Then, the author briefly introduces the three properties of language: nego
