Abstract Ever since the reform of holiday system in china, urban residents‘ leisure time becomes many shorter holidays, then the demand for short-range tourism products is a new boom. Rural-urban fringe gradually becomes important tourism destination for urban residents. Rural-urban fringe gradually become urban residents a good place for vacation and enjoying leisure by its rich resources, good ecological environment and location advantage. In addition, with the development of tourism from the early travel, modern tourism to the tourism industry, the relationship between the elements of the tourism industry is more complex. System theory is more scientific and reasonable to study the tourism industry. Xundian Country is located in the northeast one-hour economic circle in Kunming and it faces these opportunities that Kunming‘ southwest north rise strategy, Kunming‘ construction of regional international city and Yunnan bridgehead strategy implementation, so comprehensive optimization of the tourism system of Xundian Country to meet the tourism development opportunities is particularly important. This paper mainly divided into four parts and they are background analysis, theoretical research，empirical research and conclusion. Firstly, background analysis. This section elaborates the background and research significance of studying tourism system optimization of rural-urban fringe.Rural-urban fringe has become a hot tourism area, and the demand for rural-urban fringe tourism products is growing. So the research has important significance, especially take Xundian County as an example .In addition, this section summarizes the research progress at home and abroad on the concept of rural-urban fringe, case studies and tourism system. Secondly, theoretical part mainly expounds the rural-urban fringe scoping method, then author puts forward the concept of tourism system of rural-urban fringe and rural-urban fringe tourism system structure model. The system model mainly in
