Abstract Prose teaching has an important role in Chinese teaching for a long time.Resent years,the study of modern prose reading emerge in endlessly, all kinds of theories appeared , but always give a person the sense of confused and ambiguous. What does the prose teaching indeed teach?How can highlight the focus of the article?The author thinks that aside from the complex external form,regressing text and attaches great importance to reading the text,that’s what the reading teaching should pay attention to. Practice after class reflects the material editor to the text teaching content of the guide and specification to a certain extent.To research the Shanghai textbooks teaching material of prose teaching content set, is inevitable to study his prose reveals after-school practice settings.In this article, the author will use the concept of “the core value of text”,to make a comb and analysis of the modern prose after-school practice settings in the Chinese textbooks for high schools in Shanghai.In order to know if the Chinese textbooks for high schools in Shanghai can highlight the essay focus on the teaching content well.
