It is believed that the each kind of retailing is accordant with given economic development level and people living habit ，so in the competition of the other retailing institute，the west department store began to lose the leading position of the whole retailing situatio?，the enterprise outstanding achievement was falling ，the marketing share was reducing ，even the bankrupt was constantly. Form the evolvement of the west retailing ，the department store came out of autumn ，began to come in decline. The Chinese retailing was diffused from the west and absorbed 苦 innovated by indigenous enterprise. Face the market competition ，Chinese retailing appeared the morbidity ，which make the scholar realized the Chinese department 8tofe is declining ， influence the normal developmen t. Although someone think of the realistic space of Chinese retailing ，their view main is transverse ，such as the countermeasure ，can not demonstrate it from the theory point of view. The thesis mainly study the evolution theories of west retailing ，and deeply analyze them. It points out that the evolution of west retailing ís plural and regular. Each kind of retailing development is sustained by given theory，such as the wheel of retailing ，retailing life cycle and the three wheels of retailing were on the base of study the development of retailing. Th巳se theory is scientific and practicability. The Chinese retailing is transplanted from the west and through innovation ，though western retail evolvement theory can explain Chinese retail business some phenomena of evolution partly.
