ABSTRACT This paper mainly focuses on the following two objectives. First, the relationship between distribution of discrete random variable in probability of theory and Toeplitz matrix are discussed, so is how to construct Toeplitz matrix by means of distribution of discrete random variable; Second, a new type of Toeplitz matrix is constructed based on hypergeometric distribution. There are three chapters in this paper. The main content is: In chapter one, the significance and background of Toeplitz matrix are discussed. In chapter two, Toeplitz matrix and distribution of discrete random variable are introduced and several types of Toeplitz matrices and a couple of distribution of discrete random variable are compared so that we make sure that Toeplitz matrix and distribution of discrete random variable are related to each other. In the mean while, the approach to construct Toeplitz matrix by discrete random distribution is also given out. In chapter three, based on a mathematical model of hypergeometric distribution, a Toeplitz matrix is constructed from hypergeometric distribution in probability of theory; so is a new type of Toeplitz matrix based on another mathematical model of hypergeometric distribution. And it is also pointed out that the former constructed Toeplitz matrix is only a special case of the latter one.
