Abstract The writing in classical Chinese compiled in Chinese textbooks contains the outstanding culture of the Chinese nation for thousands of years. Learning classical Chinese can improve students’ Chinese literacy comprehensively; in order to lead to the cultural treasure of classical Chinese, the problems of classical Chinese words must be solved. Based on this, this thesis studies and summarizes the function words teaching of classical Chinese. The main research methods of the thesis are the literature research method and quantitative analysis method, research and analysis the related texts and documents with prudent attitude , research and explore the teaching methods of classical chinese function words with strict professional requirements, strive for the scientific and rationality of the study. The main contents of this paper are described: In the preface part of this paper, the author analyses the important position of classical Chinese in Chinese texts, clarifies the significance of teaching classical Chinese function words and illustrate the main work and research to this thesis. Besides preface, this thesis includes the following several parts. The first part is the summary of teaching classical Chinese function words, mainly expounds the concept and characteristics of classical function words and the meaning of function words in classical Chinese teaching; the second part for the problems existing in the teaching of classical Chinese function words, mainly analyses the problems from six aspects: utilitarianism,mechanical control,lack of learning guidance,teaching too scattered, students from the actual about classical Chinese grammar,the special phenomenon ignored the classical Chinese function words; the third part is the statistical analysis of the function words in the Chinese texts in junior middle school, mainly from the scope and the kind two aspects, and the statistical work and conditions are described；in the forth part the teaching method of cl
