A city is the center of economy, politics, and culture in a region. The whole national relationships in China are affected by the urban national relations in it. And the national problems associated with it are of not only characteristics of large chain reaction and fast reflection but also a strong sensitivity which could cause serious national disputes and bring strong impact to the construction of harmonious national relations. So, the urban national relations and the national problems associated with it are very important. It has been becoming one of most important common problems focused by our party and country and the people to discover carefully, study seriously, and resolve properly the urban national problems in the process of urbanization. The causes, characteristics and contents of the urban national problems should be analyzed properly and scientifically. It is helpful for our party and country to establish more effective policies about construction of the harmonious urban national relations in the process of urbanization, to resolve the disputes among the people of all national groups, to build more equal, united, mutual and harmonious national relations. This paper, through analyzing, the characteristics and types of urban minorities associated with it, and the contents, traits and cause of the urban national problems in the process, elaborates the necessity of construction of harmonious urban national relations in the process of urbanization. Through drawing experiences and lessons at home and abroad, the paper puts forward some constructive measures and thinking about the construction of the urban national relations in the new period of our country.
