Abstract With the rapid development of China‘s economy, a growing number of Chinese engineering enterprises have started to take part in international competition and got to ICB documents more frequently. However, domestic engineers are only familiar with Chinese version instead of the English version. Therefore, the translation of bidding documents becomes increasingly significant to ensure engineers have a comprehensive and accurate understanding of bidding documents and improve their working efficiency. Based on PROJEK MASS RAPID TRANSIT LEMBAH KELANGan English civil engineering bidding documents and its translated Chinese version, this paper aims to analyze the stylistic features of English bidding documents and draw forth the difficulties and problems to which attentions should be paid in its E-C translation. Considering that bidding documents is target text reader-oriented pragmatic text, so there are definite purposes in its translation. Under the guidance of Skopos theory, while applying the readability of translated text and target-text readers‘ acceptability as the principle, the author made a contrastive analysis on two translated Chinese versions and explored the proper translation methods and skills with the hope to cope with those difficulties and problems exist in English bidding documents translation, enhance its translation quality and promote foreign exchange.
