Because of less knowledge about its unique ecological characteristics known by people in China during the early stage,its cropping hasbeenoccurredaruggeddevelopment. Basedontheexperienceforaboutfortyyearsof cultivationpracticeaswell as the comparison and analysis about the climate between China and the Mediterranean region for olive growing,it can be concluded that the dry valleys in west Chinamight be suitable areasfor developing olive.
