Make the students talk about the types of dances.

1. Encourage the students to have a discussion about famous ballets.
2. Encourage the students to have a free talk about whether they like Chinese folk dance or not.

导入一:
Do you know anything about Yang Liping?
Key: Yang Liping (1958 - ), a famous dancer, is the director and star of a performance art show called Dynamic Yunnan that has drawn sellout crowds all over China.
Ever since Yang Liping won first prize in a national dance competition in 1986, she has been delighting Chinese audiences with her signature dance, Spirit of the Peacock.
Look at the following pictures and identify the types of dances.
Keys: classical ballet; Chinese folk dance; tango; ballet; waltz; Cha-Cha.
Where and when did ballet begin?
Key: Ballet began in Italy and France during the Renaissance (文艺复兴时期).
What kinds of folk dances are famous in China?
Key: Dragon dance, Lion dance and Yangge.
