ABSTRACT
Diesel particulate filters (DPF) showed excellent performance in diesel soot removal, but need regular regeneration. In this thesis, a cordierite monolith surface-modified by three dimensionally ordered macroporous have been fabricated using colloidal crystal template of polystyrene spheres and the catalysts of
La1-xSrxCoO3、La1-xCexMnO3 supported on porous modified cordierite monolith are
fabricated by impregnation- sintering method. The physic-chemical properties of these catalysts are characterized by SEM, EDX, XRD, FT-IR, TG-DSC and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms. The catalytic activity of these supported catalysts for diesel soot removal studied in Thermogravimetric analyzer under the simulated diesel exhaust conditions. This study will provide some guidance for DPF used in the removal of diesel soot. Several conclusions have been drawn:
Polystyrene spheres (PS) with diameters of 120-150nm were synthesized by emulsion polymerization technique. The obtained PS did not aggregate and their size distribution was narrow. Three dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) SiOC were prepared by the means of colloidal crystal template method using PS as templates. The pore diameters and the skeleton thickness of 3DOM were concentrated in 100-150nm and 50-100nm, respectively.
The catalysts particle of La1-xSrxCoO3、La1-xCexMnO3 supported on modified cordierite monolith are fabricated by impregnate- sintering method. The SEM results revealed that the particle of catalysts adhere to SiOC skeleton uniformly
and the particle size distributed in 30-50nm. N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms results revealed that the average pore radius of 3DOM increase from 26.99nm to 48.11nm after several times calcination, which imply that the pore structure of 3DOM collapse after calcination.
To simulate diesel exhaust conditions, the soot will be dispersed by alcohol and impregnated into cordierite monolith. The TG-DSC results revealed that the 10% soot conversion rate
