MA Zhi-sheng, JIA Yun-yun, WANG Yue-hui, XUAN Li-feng (Shijiazhuang Pomology Institute, Hebei A ademy of Agri ulture and Forestry S ien es, Shijiazhuang 050061, China) Abstract:This paper aim s to study the relations betw een the stomati shape and evalution of pea h- es.The stomati shape and distributions of the large and small stomatas of 139 ultivars(seedlings) of pea h (Pr un us p ersica Bats h )and its 5 related spe ies were examed.The results showed the stomati shapes of pea hes w as divided into 3 kinds, i.e.round, lathy and ellipse.The stomati shapes of wild spe ies w as all lathy .The ellipse shapes a ounted for 65.7%of all the ultivars (seedlings), the round and lathy shapes a ounted for 12.95%and 17.99%respe tivdly .There were no the distributions of large and small stomatas in wild spe ies, but ultivars and seedlings, whi h ould be divided into 4 groups a ording to the distributions of the large and small stomatas, had the distributions of large and small stomatas.The first group had no large and small stomatas, the se ond group had only large stomatas,the third group had only small stomatas, the forth group had both large and small stomatas.The round stomata and the distributions of the large and small stomatas were the symbols of evolution.P .m ira, w h
