The mean time to repair electric power optical cable per month is 810 minutes from January to June in 2007.The members of QC team carried out quality management activities in order to shorten repair time. By quality control activities, the repair time is shortened greatly, and the mean time to repair per month is reduced to 360 minutes. At the same time, they achieved innovation both in management and technology. The management innovation makes every team member has a variety of capability, i.e. one person can act as work principal of electric power line and work principal of telecommunication. The technology innovation is to establish optical cable information management system. IT makes optical cable resource can be shared by city electric power bureau and county electric power bureau. The results of QC activities had been tested in the ice and snow calamity in 2008 and obtained good effect. And fiber optic communication is the leading part of power communication. At present, Quzhou Electric Power Bureau has 870km fiber optic cable that spreads over Quzhou area. The fiber optic cable types are common, All-Dielectric-Self-Supporting (ADSS) and optic fiber composite overhead ground wire (OPGW).
