Aft r th 8 days old larva w r r ar d w ith in duc d cotton l av s for 3 days, th inf ct d and uninf ct d cutt d plants r sult d in a d cr as of th r lativ growth rat s of larva by 229% and 172% r sp ctiv ly, and in a d cr as of th r lativ f ding rat s by 261% and 214% r sp ct iv ly. It is sugg st d that plumular ax is cutting could induc th r sistanc of cotton plants to bollworm, and influ nc th grow th and d v lopm nt sp d of bollworms through r tarding th ir f ding and dig stion.
