AbstractThe Abstract The phenomena of several respects have caused our thinking：on the one hand,all sorts of criticism which machinery train strangle studys interest of students in the existing classroom instruction；on the other hand,vailOIlS rectification and appeal for teenagers falling low slaves ofthe video games and producing all kinds ofextremes and e、r盼illegal activities．Teenagers have initiated our association to the addiction of the computer game：It would be beRer if could let the children crazy about study器crazy about the computer gaming．Its possibility is to give play to some desirable characteristics in computer game to the positive side．So this paper emphatically probes into the function of edueational games in students’practice ability train and initiative study． Tllis paper has explained the concept of”educational game’through a large amount of literature at first and introduced the current research simation of the domestic and intemational educational games and the function on the course refom mat the educational games bring about all advance in students’learning ability in detail．Then we investigated in the current situation，reason，current situation of understanding of educational game that the students ofdifferent age phases，different academic levels，and different SeX play games through the questionnaire，application simafion and the function on students’practice activity train and imtiative study of the educational game software in teaching,and present educational game existing problems．On this basis，we proposed the function of educational games in practice ability train and initiative study of students through case analysis，and mainly analyzed from follow three aspects，that is， characteristics of games，realization of study progress and the function ofpractice ability train and initiative study for students．Finally,the PaDer summarized and refined out principles and methods that the educational games are designed．and looked forward to the applic
