Structure analysis of the text (2): stylistic features This text is a piece of narration, which is reasonably orgainized—with a begining, a body and an end. Whats the pupose of a narrative text? It is not always just to tell the reader what happened; more often than not, it sends a message to the reader, which, in some cases, is implied, and in others explicitely stated. Is there a message the author intends to send to the reader through the narration? If yes, then what is it? Is it implied or explicitly stated? The story is the writer’s objective and vivid narration of her extraordinary, unforgettable travel experience on a plane. The writer intends to tell us about her unusual, unforgetable travel experience in order to eulogize her fellow passengers, praise their fine deeds and inspire others to copy them. Theme: not pay back but pass on kindness from generation to generation. The tone is objective and emotional, with concrete or detailed accounts of the actual situations and touching scenes.
