Important points: vocabularies and sentence patterns Difficult points: learn what to write and how to write. Teaching procedures: Step 1. Warming-up Enjoy a song “The more we get together, the happier we will be” Step 2: Lead-in Describe my best friend, ask the students to draw a picture of my friend. Step 3:Pre-writing task 1. Words collection A Brainstorm of the words about describing a person 2. Pair work Talk about you and your friend. 3. Present the main sentence patterns on the screen. Step 4: While-writing. 1. Use 3 or 5 sentences to write something about a boy. 2. Writing task 3. Teach some writing skills to help the students learn what to write and how to write. Step 5: After-writing 1. Pair-correction. 2. Share some compositions and correct some mistakes. Give a point as a prize. 3.Read a sample Step 6: Summary. 1. Review words and expressions about describing people. 2.
