Today I will talk about something about Unit 1 , ‘Where did you go on vacation?’ There are 4 parts: Teaching goals, key points, difficult points and teaching steps.
This topic is about how to keep diaries about vacation .Students will be interested in it because there are many activities.
Teaching aims in this lesson
Teaching goals:
knowledge goals:
1 Let ss know the words, such as , decide, try, bird, paragliding, bicycle, building. wonder and so on.
2 Learn the prepositions of decide to do, try doing , feel like, because of , enough money
3 Learn the sentences: We decided to go to the beach..
Ability aims:
Let ss talk about past events correctly
Emotion goals:
Let ss understand the importance of activities.
Key points
Read the diary entries correctly and find the key words
The difficult points
Find the key sentences of a diary.
The ss have learned English for many years so far , so they can understand each other well. In this lesson , I design interesting games(明暗3) to help ss improve their abilities.
Now I’ll deal with the important part: Teaching steps

Step1 Warm up (2’)
In this step, the ss will see some pictures, we’ll ask and answer.
Where did they go on vacation? How were they?
Step2 presentation (5’)
Show the pictures about Penang Hill. Then I’ll help the ss ask, ‘Where is it? Why did Jane go there?’ and let them answer, ‘Jane went the beautiful view spot on vacation ’
Step3 practice (10’)
I will ask the students to look at the pictures in activity on PPT . Now ss work in pairs. G1: Where did he go on vacation? G2: They went to the summer camp.
Then read Jane’s diary entries about her vacation.
Divide the diary into 3 parts.
Step4 Listening and practice.(15’)
Listen to each paragraph and answer my questions. Check the answer by asking, ‘What did Jane decide to do? ’……and find the key sentence each paragraph.
