Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science.

一、教学目标
1. 学习并掌握以下词汇:grow up, computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist, be sure about, make sure
2. 学会谈论自己或他人的理想和以及谈论实现理想的方式:
A: What do you want to be when you grow up? B: I’m going to be a computer programmer.
A: How are you going to do that? B: I’m going to study computer science.
A: What does Cheng Han want to be? B: He wants to be…
二、 学时重点:
学习掌握本课中出现的重点词汇和句型。
三、学时难点:
用be going to结构谈论自己及他人理想职业的对话,并能用这种结构进行相关话题的会话。
四、教学过程
Ⅰ. Lead-in
1. Enjoy an English song “I have a dream.”
2. Talk about the words about jobs
What do you do? =What’s your job? =What are you?
2. Ask students HYPERLINK about their dream jobs and elicit the sentence pattern:
─ What do you want to be when you grow up?
─ I want to be a basketball player.
Then guide students to ask and answer.
3. Check Ss’ advance preparation about this lesson.
Ⅱ. Presentation
1. Look at the HYPERLINK big screen, read and understand this conversation in the picture. Then let Ss do some inquiry learning.
2. Practice
Show some jobs on the screen, then Ss work in pairs.
Ⅲ. Listening (Work on 2a & 2b )
1. Let Ss l HYPERLINK ook at the pictures below. Guess what he wants to be. Then play the recording for the Ss to listen and check (√) the correct boxes in the picture.
2. Check the answer.
3. Let Ss r HYPERLINK ead the chart below. Tell Ss that they’ll listen to Cheng Han’s plans for the future.
4. Play the reco HYPERLINK rding for the Ss to write the correct answers in the chart.
5. Check the answers.
Ⅳ. Pair work
1. Tell HYPERLINK Ss to ask and answer questions about Cheng Han’s plans using the information in 2b.
2. Give a model to the Ss.
3. Ask Two Ss to make their conversations.
4. Inv HYPERLINK ite two Ss to come to the front and act out the conversation about their own dream jobs.
