Unit 3 Could you please clean your room?
第一课时(1a-2d)
Step 1 Warming-up
Watch a video of the cartoon Cinderella to lead into the topic of this lesson and the new work “chores”. The beautiful and kind Cinderella has to do all the chores every day because of her stepmothers jealousy. The students can easily associate this video with the topic of this lesson.
Step 2 learn some new words and phrases
Show some pictures to teach the phrased: do chores, do the dishes, make the bed, take out the trash, fold the clothes, do the laundry, clean the living room。
Step 3 Guessing game
According to the phrases that the students have learned, the teacher asks some students to do some actions one by one. Then ask the others to answer the question:
What is she/he doing?
Step 4 Practice(1c)
Make conversations about the chores in 1a. Examples:
A: Could you please…?
B: Yes, sure./All right./No problem./Certainly./Sorry, I cant. I have to do…/Sorry, I cant. I am doing…
Step 5 Listening(2a, 2b)
Peter asks his father if he can do four things. What does his father say? Listen to the recording. Check (√) “yes” or “no”. Listen again. Draw lines to the reasons.

Step 7 Language points
take out the rubbish; I think two hours of TV is enough…
Step 8 Summary
