Currently, there are still various problems in English curriculum standards for industry English, and no curriculum standards are available for mechanical industry English. With the future job’s actual demand and the market’s needs of mechanical major graduates and the national professional certificate standards as the basis, we develop the mechanical industry English curriculum standards for vocational colleges with the joint participation of English teachers, teachers of mechanical majors, and industrial experts. The current standards can offer guidance for the mechanical industry English teaching, and provide lessons for developing English curriculum standards for other industries and reforming English teaching in vocational colleges.
