Abstract
Writing, as one of four language communication skills, is of great importance in English teaching. For a long period, English writing has been assumed as the weakest point in teaching in junior high schools in China. And English teachers in junior high schools pay more attention to the effectiveness of English writing teaching. However, the current teaching method is not satisfying. Many students don’t know how to write and lose their interests in writing. They even neglect the development of writing ability.
In order to improve students’ ability and endeavor to solve the difficulties and problems that they will meet in English writing class, the author has applied process approach in junior English writing class for 4 month experiment. The whole research was based on two questionnaires, one interview and the experiment. The subjects are two classes in Grade seven in junior high school. During the experiment, process approach has been adopted in the experimental class. The thesis focuses on the solution to the following questions:
In which aspects will the students improve their writing ability by implementing process approach?
What are the changes of students’ attitude towards process approach in English writing?
The results of the research show that the process writing approach is an effective approach for writing class in junior high schools. It can change students’

attitude towards writing, and even improve their writing ability. In the end, the author not only gives suggestions to help other teachers apply the process approach more effectively in the writing class but also contributions to the future research.

写作作为四项语言技能之一在英语教学中起着重要的作用。长期以来,写作 一直是初中英语教学中最薄弱的环节。而且越来越多的初中英语教师更重视英语 写作教学的有效性。然而在实际英语教学中,大多数的中学英语写作方法并不令 人满意,许多学生不知道如何写作,使学生缺乏兴趣,忽略了对学生写作能力的 培养。
