AbstraotOpticalpatternrecognitionhastheadvantagesofsuperiorhighspeedandparallelprocessing，whichmakeitaveryimportantwaytorealizepattemrecognitionpracticallyandinrealtime．Ithasbeenwidelystudiedandusedinthefieldsofmilitarytargetrecognition，automationcontrolandfingerprintrecognition．Inthispaper,twomethodsofrealizingopticalpatternrecognition，spatialmatchedfiltercorrelationandjointtransformcorrelation(JTC)，werediscussedfirstwi血theemphasisontheJTC．Thispaperanalyzedthemodulationandfiltertechniqueonjointpowerspectmm(JPS)，whichreducedtheintensityandwidthofthestrongdccomponentexistingintheclassicaljoint仃黜formcorrelator,improvedtherecognitionabilitygreatly．Second,basedonthetheoryofsyntheticdiscriminantfunction,severalsub-referenceimagesweresynthesizedtoformthereferenceimagebasetorealizerotationdistortion—invariantrecognition，whichalsosolvedtheill—problemofsynthesizingasinglereferenceimagewiththewholetrainingdistortedimagesandmadetheposeestimationeasier．Third，thepbase·encodingandamplitudemodulationdistortion—invariantJTCformulti-targetrecognitionweredescribed．TheproposedJTCgreatlyreducestheintensityandwidthofthestrongdccomponent，sharpensthecorrelationpeak，eliminatescross-correlationsamongeachinputtarget，andtheconjugatecross—correlationbetweenthereferenceandinputtargetsatthesametime．Inordertocalculatethediscriminantprobabilityoftheobjects，asimplebutself-explainablestatisticfunctionwaspresentedtoshowwherethetrueobjectandfalseobjectoccurredintheunknowninputimagesequence．Thisfunctionalsobodiedsuchafactthatwhentheinputscontinuouslyjudgedasthetrueobjects，theprobabilityofthetrueinputwouldbestrengthened，andontheotherhandwhensomeinputswerejudgedasthefalseobjectscontinuously,theprobabilityofthetrueinputwouldheweakened．Basedontheabovetheories，twosoftwaresweredevelopedforcontinuouslyshotinputimagesandrandomshotinputimages．Thesoftwaresarewiththeabilityofrecognizingtrueandfalseobjects，estimatingtheposeofthetrueobjectsand11Icalculatingtherecognitionprobabil时ofbothtrueobjectandfalseobjectinthei
