AbstractAs Abstract As the”window”of hospital medical service，Clinic has been faced with huge pressure of treatment．Due to the imbalance of supply and demand of medical service industry in China，and the traditional medical treatment habits with preference on the large hospital，People’S adequate medical care is still quite difficult．With the improvement of the Our country’S health care system，no matter the large hospitals or the specialist hospitals al e beginning to promote the service of outpatient appointment， which are also receiving the policy maker’S attention． No show and walk-in has been two of the most important factors in a appointment schedule system．Because of the complementarity between them，how to design an appointment system to rdieve the bad influence of them has been the research focus in the appointment scheduling field．In this paper we study the appointment patient number distribution to coordinate meir influence on the appointment system，and analyze the influence of different no—show rate，temporary arrival rate on the number distribution and appointment system utility．To sum up，this Paper mainly complete the following two aspects work： ◆ For appointment scheduling problem 谢m no—show and walk—in，the non—overbooking policy with fixed appointment number patients is first considered．The objective function includes the benefits of serving patients，the patient wmting time costs，and system overtime expenses．We propose an extended Bailey-Welch rule and analyze the influence of different no—show rate， walk·in rate on the appointment number distribution and appointment system utility． ● For appointment scheduling problem with no-show and walk·in，this thesis further consider an overbooking based policy．The objective function includes the benefits of serving patients，the patient waiting time costs，and system overtime expenses．A joined model is established witll the optimization variables as the appointment patient number on each slot．By relaxing the coupl
