Ⅱ. Key points and difficulties: Review the present tense of the Passive Voice and learn the past tense of the Passive Voice.
Ⅲ.Teaching tool(s): Multi-Media
Ⅳ.Teaching Steps:
Step 1. Leading-in
Play a video about Bell and telephone. Lead in to the Passive Voice.
Step 2. Presentation
Let Ss look at the pictures of the inventions and learn the new sentences.
T: Who was the car invented by?
S: The car was invented by Karl Benz.
T: When was the TV invented?
S: It was invented in 1927.
T: What is it used for?
S: It is used for ….
Step 3. Listening
Listen and match the inventions with the years in 1b.
Step 4.Talk in pairs
Ask Ss to talk in pairs based on the pictures.
Step 5. Reading
Show the pictures of the four great inventions of ancient China, and introduce them simply.
Ask Ss to read a passage about Papermaking, and answer the questions.
Step 6. Writing
Ask Ss to write a passage according to the chart.
Step 7. Summary
Review the present tense and the past tense of the Passive Voice. Make sentences with the given words and phrases.
Ⅴ. Homework
Put the Active Voice into the Passive Voice.
