In the text, a student feels that individuals have little effect on environmental problems and doesn’t know how to start his project about global warming, so he asks Earth Care for suggestions. From the letter, students are asked to discuss the suggestions and write a poster. The topic is related to students’ life, which enables them to understand the text more easily. Further explanation is given to support the suggestions, which teaches Ss how to develop their ideas. 学情分析 As most of our senior two students are reluctant to express themselves in English, the teacher should find the effective ways to motivate them to speak English. For example, we put students in a specific situation to express their ideas. The students’ oral English needs to be tested in the university entrance exam, so the teacher should have awareness of providing them with opportunities to practice English such as reading, discussing, and pair work.. As students have learnt the first period of global warming and have a better understanding of the topic, their reading and writing are easy to carry out. 教学目标 知识目标: 1. To ask or answer questions in the text. 2. To learn new words and useful expressions 3. To learn how to make a poster 能力目标: 1. To enable them to express their ideas in a group. 2. To find the suggestions on how to solve the environmental problems. 3. To write a poster to express their concerns about global warming. 情感与态度目标: From the text, Ss can learn an important role individuals play in global warming and they are also motivated to raise their awareness of protecting our environment. 教学重点 Reading comprehension and writing a poster 教学难点 Describe the environmental problems and find the solutions to solve them
