They can get the benefit of a rate lower than they would have normally paid to the carrier. 8.1 The Introduction of International Freight organization ----- FIATA FIATA, International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association, was founded in Vienna Austria on 31 May, 1926. It is the largest non-governmental organization in the field of transportation representing today an industry covering about 40,000 forwarding firms, also known as the Architects of Transport, employing around 8-10 million people in 150 countries. 8.1.1 FIATA’s main objectives are: To unite the freight forwarding industries worldwide.
