Southern and Northern Dynasties period The Liu Song dynasty established Jingzhous capital in Xiangyang. The Southern Qi dynasty changed Jingzhous capital to Nan commandery and made Xiangyang the capital of another province, Yongzhou. In 497, the Northern Wei dynasty set up an administrative division called Jingzhou in Rang, with eight commanderies under its charge.
