REF coursetitle \h Structural-Acoustic Analysis with ABAQUS Workshop 2 Acoustic Evaluation of a Small Vented Room Interactive Version Copyright 2005 ABAQUS, Inc. Structural-Acoustic Analysis with ABAQUS Note: This workshop provides instructions in terms of the ABAQUS GUI interface. If you wish to use the ABAQUS Keywords interface instead, please see the “Keywords” version of these instructions. Please complete either the Keywords or Interactive version of this workshop. Goals When you complete this workshop, you will be able to: Connect acoustic regions with tie constraints. Utilize models that consist of both hexahedral and tetrahedral acoustic elements. Represent infinite three-dimensional acoustic domains via classical absorbing boundaries. Define general boundary impedance models on the surface of an acoustic mesh. Calculate sound pressure levels from history output data. Convert sound pressure levels to A, B, and C weighting scales. Introduction: This workshop will expand upon the acoustic modeling procedures presented in Workshop 1. Connecting mismatched acoustic meshes with tie constraints and using both hexahedral and tetrahedral elements in the same acoustic domain will be demonstrated. The procedures for defining classical absorbing boundaries that represent infinite acoustic domains will be presented, as will procedures for defining general acoustic impedance models at mesh boundaries. You will be taught how to use the Visualization module to convert acoustic pressure history data to sound pressure levels (SPL) and how to apply weighting scales to these to levels. The procedures introduced in this workshop will be applied to models that consist only of acoustic elements. Procedures for creating models with structural-acoustic interaction will be described in Workshop 3. The basic model used for this workshop is more complex than the simple air duct s
