Abstract Novels contain the authors understanding of the external world and his or her internalsecrets. Similar to other literature forms, the novels have a specific theme and scatterthe parts in different sessions of the novel. How to understand the theme is usually thetopic for literature review. In the study of the great work Wuthering Heights by EmilyBronte, the author experiences are indicated between the lines and they help to buildup the comprehensiveness of the theme. Wuthering Heights is the only work of EmilyBronte and focuses on the revenge of Heathcliff throughout the novel. This thesis,thus, probes the author experiences of Emily and discovers how these experiences arereflected in the novel as well as how they help to make up the theme of hatred andlove, in order to enlighten more English majors in understanding the novels bylearning about the author.
