To activate students knowledge about Canada and arouse their interest. Ask students to finish Activity 1 and check their knowledge about Canada. Step 2 Reading for main idea 1.Ask students to listen to the email and find out what it is mainly about. To guide students to have an overview of the text and help students learn how to scan a text. 2. Ask students to scan the text and write the places on the map. Step 3 Reading for information Teacher asks students to find out things Eva’s family enjoyed and problems they faced during their trip and complete the table. To lead students to obtain the specific information and help them to learn the usage of pronouns. 1. Explain the content in “Learning to learn” to students. 2. Ask students to think about what the underlined words refer to. 3. Help students summarize the usage of pronouns. Teacher explains some difficulties. Step 4 Reading for opinions Ask students to read the text and think about the first three questions in Think and Share. (
