The purpose of this fun cti on is to allow plac ing some requested RABs into a queue, and in dicate the peer en tity about the queui ng. (RAB Assig nment) Requesti ng RAB release/modificati on. While the overall RAB man ageme nt is a fun cti on of the CN, the RNC has the capability to request the release/modificati on of RAB. (RAB Release Request, RAB Modification Request) Release of all Iu conn ecti on resources. This fun cti on is used to explicitly release all resources related to one Iu connection. (Iu Release, Reset Resource) Requesti ng the release of all Iu conn ecti on resources. While the Iu release is man aged from the CN, the RNC has the capability to request the release of all Iu connection resources from the corresponding Iu connection. (Iu Release Request) - SRNS context forwarding function. This function is responsible for transferring SRNS context from the RNC to the CN for intersystem change in case of packet forwarding.
