Reading skill is of the utmost importance of these skills. Extensive reading is an affective approach to enlarge vocabularies 拓展词汇、strengthen language knowledge and thought语言知识和思维、enrich presentation skills演讲技巧、elevate the level of expression and reading ability表达水平和阅读能力、improve the use of grammar语法应用、stimulate students’ reading interest阅读兴趣 泛读应该占据了95%以上的日常生活阅读。路边的广告牌、各种宣传单、各种小说、新闻、报刊杂志等等，实际上都需要泛读技能。 精读与泛读的区别： 泛读：完整性和连续性 精读：关注每句话，深入理解，失去整体把握 重复泛读=精读 Some Suggestions：Three Golden Rules of Extensive Reading No dictionaries while reading Skip over difficult words Stop reading when it is boring or too difficult. 平常多阅读：China Daily VOA 纽约时报中英文网 a、基础知识、词汇、语法是英语学习的基础，也是学好英语的关键。 b、阅读技巧、阅读速度是反映语言能力和衡量阅读水平的重要标志。同学们要练习并养成集中关键词阅读，抓主题句阅读、利用词缀和上下文推测词义阅读以及用英语思维阅读等良好阅读习惯。 1、学会搜寻信息：练习扑捉细节信息，通过略读(skim)或是跳读（skip）迅速搜寻细节内容；通过抓中心思想（main?idea）掌握文章主要内容；通过辨别文章段落中细节内容的结构（recognizing?the?pattern?of?details）理解上下文结构关系等等。 2、学会猜测词义：阅读材料时遇到的生词是影响阅读速度的重要因素。但有些生词是根据上下文或是构词法可以推知意思的单词，或者是仅能猜到词性和大致意思，但不影响全文理解的单词。 3、学会培养分析能力：阅读当然不仅仅是单独理解单词意思就可以了，它还需要对语篇（discourse/text）材料的主题（subject），作者的写作意图（intention）与态度（attitude），并能结合个人的生活体验对材料中涉及的事实进行适当的评价（evaluate）.
