A Survey of Self-efficacy of Primary School English TeachersTaking the 21th Primary School, Zhuhai for Example
Abstract
Up to present, most of the researches on teachers self-efficacy in China concentrate upon the situation of teachers self-efficacy, the reasons that affect teachers self-efficacy and how to improve teachers self-efficacy. In this paper, the study of teachers self-efficacy is divided into six dimensions to explore, showing the satisfaction of teachers self-efficacy in different dimensions more comprehensively and concretely. In view of the relatively weak dimension to take targeted measures to improve the specific sense of self-efficacy of teachers can produce scientific help.
On the basis of the questionnaire survey of primary school English teachers self-efficacy, this study investigated the self-efficacy of primary school English teachers through online questionnaire star link or e-mail and offline paper-based questionnaires. The results of a survey of 85 Primary School English teachers were collected based on twenty first Primary School English teachers in Xiangzhou district, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. Based on the results of the survey, the self-efficacy of primary school English teachers is generally unsatisfactory, especially in the two dimensions of teacher-student interaction and student participation. According to the survey results, this paper further explores the main reasons for the differences of self-efficacy levels in different dimensions. In the last section of the paper, the author comes up with some countermeasures to improve teachers own self-efficacy through educational technology training, and gives scientific help to teachers development and teaching work.
