By praising Greece’s ancient brilliant culture, splendid civilization, great military achievements and heroic militant tradition and satirizing the Greek’s apathy towards their country’s being slaved by Turks.;Byron tries very hard to encourage and impel the Greek people to rise and fight for their national liberty and independence, which shows the poet’s enthusiastic support for people against all forms of oppression. The 16 six-line stanzas of this poem follow a quatrain-couplet rhyme scheme: ABABCC. Each line is metered in iambic tetrameter.
