The Second Period Reading Teaching goals 教学目标 1. Target language 目标语言 a. 重点词汇和短语 Renaissance, Gothic, frontier, perspective, polyphony, cathedral, motivate, parachute, submarine, tank, exploration, medieval, genius b. 重点句子 But there is one work which, perhaps more than any other, expresses the spirit of the Renaissance. It is believed to be the best example of a new life-like style of painting that amazed people when it was first used. The sense of exploration which motivated the artists went hand in hand with a new type of philosophy. 2. Ability goals 能力目标 Enable the students to talk about the importance of the Renaissance in history. It is important for every student to have a knowledge of what is the Renaissance, how it got its name and the role it played in history. 3. Learning ability goals 学能目标 Let the students learn how to talk about the Renaissance and how to make a brief summary of each paragraph, using the information in the text or they learned in some other ways. Teaching important points 教学重点 Help the students learn about the Renaissance, the great work — the Mona Lisa and the roles that the Renaissance played in history.
