Ansys Forming Agenda • Introduction of Ansys Forming ‐ Pre processor ‐ Job runner ‐ Post processor • Some of the unique features ‐ Smart adaptivity ‐ Multiple lancing during forming ‐ Trimming with depth ‐ In-core adaptivity • Summary and future work 2 3 Introduction of Ansys Forming • Background: ‐ LS-DYNA has long been used in stamping simulation ‐ LSDYNA has been the technology leader and have built strong reputation in accuracy, especially in springback prediction ‐ LSDYNA has relied on third-party to provide user GUIs: DynaForm, J-Stamp, Hyper-Form, Fast Form, OpenForm ‐ Third party GUI has the followings drawbacks: • Do not use the updated features • No feedback from the user to the solver team • The predictions heavily depends on users’ experience. ▪ Do not always use the preferred setting o inaccurate result. o Speed is compromised. ▪ Users experience is not desirable 4 Introduction of Ansys Forming • Ansys Forming was initiated at the beginning of 2018 ‐ Initially named ‘LS-FORM’ ‐ Beta version was sent to distributors and some customers, to collect feedbacks in July 2020 ‐ The code was fine-tuned based on the feedbacks • Objectives: ‐ Make it easy for everyone, who is familiar with stamping process ‐ Make it easy to set up complicated forming process ‐ Every user gets consistent results 5 Ansys Forming • Introduction of the new GUI for stamping simulation ‐ It integrates pre-processor, solver, and post-processor ‐ It is easy to setup multi-stage forming simulations ‐ Template-based method allows user to easily define different forming processes ‐ A job-submitter allows user easily run the job ‐ U
