It begins when relevant documents are released by the beneficiary and ends when documents are submitted to the issuing bank. In practice, the check memo is usually put on the right side, documents are in the middle and the letter of credit is in the left to facilitate the process of examination. 11.1.2 Method of Document Examination(2) Lateral examination means that each content in the letter of credit should be verified with that of relevant documents. The purpose for lateral examination is to make sure the conformity among documents and terms of a credit.If any amendment is found in letter of credit, first of all, the verifier should check out whether or not the beneficiary accepts the amendment, and then check relevant documents such as the amended clause
