The goal of the lesson is to equip students with the necessary skills to introduce themselves and greet others in English. The lesson is aimed at third-grade students in the People’s Education Press (PEP) version of the English language. 2. Aims The specific aim of this lesson is to help students: Learn to introduce themselves in English. Practice basic conversational skills such as making simple greetings. Develop listening and speaking skills in English. Build confidence in expressing themselves in English. 3. Teaching procedures The lesson will be divided into the following sections: Warm-up (5 minutes) Begin the lesson by greeting the students and getting them to greet each other. This will help create a positive atmosphere and set the tone for the lesson. Introduction (5 minutes) Introduce the topic of greetings and introductions using simple language and real-life examples. This will help students to understand the importance of these skills in daily life. Presentation (10 minutes) Introduce the phrases for introducing oneself and others. Use simple and clear language to explain the meanings of these phrases. Demonstrate natural pronunciation and intonation. Practice (15 minutes) Divide the class into pairs and have students practice greeting and introducing themselves to each other. Circulate around the room and assist the students as needed. Extension (10 minutes) Introduce more complex idioms and expressions related to greetings and introductions. Provide examples and demonstrate natural pronunciation and intonation. Consolidation (5 minutes) Review the phrases and expressions that have been introduced in the lesson. Provide feedback and correction to help students improve. 4.
