    Introduction:

    AsanimportantclassicoftraditionalChinesemedicine,theNeijingcontainsalargenumberofclinicalexperienceanddiagnosticmethodsthathavebeenaccumulatedoverthousandsofyears.ThediseaseandsymptomexpressionsinNeijinghavebeenwidelyusedandhighlyvaluedinthepracticeoftraditionalChinesemedicine.However,thetranslationoftheseexpressionsintoEnglishhasalwaysbeenachallengeduetothedifferencesinculture,languageandmedicalconceptsbetweenChinaandtheWest.ThisstudyaimstoexplorethetranslationofdiseaseandsymptomexpressionsinNeijingbasedonthetheoryofadaptationselection.

    Objectives:

    1.ToanalyzethecharacteristicsofdiseaseandsymptomexpressionsinNeijing.

    2.Toexplorethetheoryofadaptationselectionanditsapplicationintranslation.

    3.ToinvestigatethechallengesandstrategiesoftranslatingdiseaseandsymptomexpressionsinNeijingbasedonthetheoryofadaptationselection.

    4.ToproposeguidelinesforthetranslationofdiseaseandsymptomexpressionsinNeijingbasedonthetheoryofadaptationselection.

    Methodology:

    Thisstudywilladoptaqualitativeresearchapproachtoanalyzethedata.ThedatasourcesincludetheoriginaltextsofNeijingandtheirtranslations,aswellasrelevantliteratureontranslationtheoriesandtraditionalChinesemedicine.Theanalysiswillbeconductedinseveralsteps:first,thecharacteristicsofdiseaseandsymptomexpressionsinNeijingwillbesummarizedandanalyzed;second,thetheoryofadaptationselectionwillbereviewedanditsapplicationintranslationwillbeexplored;third,thechallengesandstrategiesoftranslatingdiseaseandsymptomexpressionsinNeijingbasedonthetheoryofadaptationselectionwillbediscussed;fourth,guidelinesforthetranslation
