情态动词could的用法

1.情态动词could表示礼貌地提出要求。

Couldyou(please)do...?/Couldyoudo...,please?意为“请你做……好吗?”,表示请求对方做某事。表示否定

意义时,用“Couldyoupleasenotdo...?”意为“请不要做……好吗?”

肯定回答为“Yes,sure./Sure./Ofcourse./Noproblem.”。

否定回答为“Sorry./No,Ican’t.”,其后一般委婉地加上原因。例如:

—Couldyoupleasecleanyourroom?请你打扫一下房间好吗?

—Yes,sure.好的,当然。

—Couldyousweepthefloor,please?请你把地扫一下好吗?

—Sorry.Ihavetofinishmydrawing.对不起。我必须完成我的画。

2.情态动词could表示委婉地请求许可。

CouldI...?意为“我可以……吗?”,表示请求对方允许自己做某事。

肯定回答为“Yes,youcan./Sure./Ofcourse.”。

否定回答为“Sorry./I’mafraidnot./I’msorryyoucan’t.”。例如:

—CouldIuseyourcomputer?我能用一下你的电脑吗?

—Sorry.I’mworkingonit.对不起。我正在用。

3.情态动词could作为can的过去式时,不表示委婉语气,而表示过去的能力或可能性,对其一般疑问句的回答

仍可用could。例如:

Theboycouldreadwhenhewasfiveyearsold.这个男孩5岁时就能看书了。
