AbstractThenewspecimensofthelargesteugaleaspiformNochelaspismaeandrineare

redescribedfromtwolocalitiesoftheXishancunFormationinQujingCity,YunnanProvince,

southwesternChina.NochelaspisismostsuggestiveofYunnanogaleaspisfromthesamehorizon,

butdiffersinitsslit-likemediandorsalopening(length/width6),muchstrongerinnercornual

process,coarsestellateornamentation,andtheserrationsalongtheedgesofthemediandorsal

openingandheadshield.Thenewfindingsrevealthemorphologicaldetailsontheventralside

oftheheadshieldaswell.Theoralobranchialfenestraiscoveredbyalargedermalventralplate,

whichisdecoratedwithdense,tinygranulartubercles,andalignedwithsixpairsofseparated,

large,andcircularbranchialopenings.Thisconditionisdifferentfromthatofosteostracans,in

whichtheoralobranchialfenestraiscoveredbynumerousminutescalesorlargerdermalplatelets,

andthebranchialopeningsareslit-
