Researchpublishedrecentlyaimstodramaticallychangethatsituation.Thestudysuggeststhatprotecting30%oftheoceansnotonlycouldrestorebiodiversitytooceanhabitats,itcouldalsoincreasetheannualglobalcatchbyeightmilliontonsabout10%ofthecatchtoday.Afterall,theonlywaytogetmorefoodfromtheoceanistoprotectmore.And,asabonus,itwouldprovidea“cheap,naturalsolution”toclimatechangebyreducingtheamountofseafloorcarbonemitted(排放)intotheseasbyfishingtrawlers(拖网渔船).
