ofnaturaldisasters,aswellasscientificmeasures.Thisunitbeginswithanintroductiontonaturaldisastersin

humanhistorythroughintroducingsomedisasterfilms.Itshowstheimpactofnaturaldisastersonhumansurvival

anddevelopment,aswellasthepositiveattitudeofhumanbeingsinthefaceofnaturaldisasters.Itintroduces

disasterprevention,response,rescueandsafetyguidelines,anditaimstoarousestudents’consciousnessofenvironmental

protectionanddisasterprevention,andtocultivatestudents’positiveandoptimisticattitudetowardslife.

III.Analysisofstudentslearningneeds

Highschoolstudentsalreadyhaverelatedknowledgeaboutdisastersfromgeographyclass,socialmediaand

films.Andtheyareabletotalkaboutnaturaldisastersafterlearningthisunit.Duetothefactthatmostofthe

studentsdon’thaverelatedlifeexperience,studentsstillhavedifficultyinunderstandingtheauthor’sfeelingsand

expressingtheirown,whichislimitedbytheirvocabulary.
