Abstract.MostcompaniesareVerySmallEntities(VSEs),meaningtheyhavefewerthan25employees.Primarilydomainspecialists,thesecompanieslackin-houseexpertiseinimportantareassuchassecurityandreliabilityengineering,processimprovement,QualityManagement(QM)andSystemsEngineering(SE).VSEsstruggletoadheretoStan-dardOperatingprocedures(SOP),andresearchhasshownthatcon-tractualobligationstofollowindustrystandardsandbestpracticeshavelittleeffectonactualengineering.ThispaperdescribesacasestudythatexploredthepotentialofLargeLanguageModels(LLMs)tosupportengineeringbestpracticesataVSEbytakingontheroleofanexpertpeerinareaswherethecompanyhadaskillsgap.Aiwell,aNorwegianproducerofbuildingautomationequipment,usedChatGPT,GitHubCopilotandGPT-4toassessthequalityoftheirsystemandstakeholderrequirements.AGPT-4foundationmodelwithnoadditionaltrainingwasgivenlinkstoreferencematerialsonrequirementsengineeringpro-ducedbyTheInternationalCouncilonSystemsEngineering(INCOSE)andallowedtoparticipateindiscussionsonthesamedigitalcollabora-tionplatformasthehumanengineers.ThestudyfoundthatAI-assistedrequirementreviewsimmediatelyandpositivelyimpactedtheentireen-gineeringprocess,supportingthefeasibilityofintegratingadvancedAItechnologiesinVSEs,evenwithlimitedtrainingandresources.P
