Abstract: To solve the problem in the field of mechanical collaborative design, this paper studies the D F
file in the field ofmechanical design and itwas expressed in ML, meanwhile, explores the MPP protocol
in the area of instantmessagingwhich has the open and extensible feature. To develop a collaborativeme
chanicaldesign system by combination theD F and MPP, whichmakeD F file inputting, display, editing
and transfer by Internet. It mi proves the ability of the collaborative design in themachinery industry.
