Analysis of the students 学情分析
Class 15 in grade 2 is made up of 52 students, most of whom are boys. They didn’t have a solid foundation in English and they are poor at doing reading comprehension. So this class is designed to improve their reading skills such as skimming and scanning by introducing them some tips for reading comprehension.
高二(15)班理科班学生大部分是男生,相对文科班的学生来说学习英语积极性较弱,阅读对班上很多学生来说是个大难题。针对这种情况,我设计了这节阅读课,旨在提高他们的篇章阅读能力,特别是略读和寻读能力,并适当对学生进行阅读技巧的指导。
Analysis of the teaching material 教材分析
This passage is about a story of catching snakes. A girl succeeded in catching the snakes without harming them with her own invention, and after that she applied for a patent.
阅读文章主要讲述一个女孩如何通过多次尝试,最后成功地把在她母亲家院子里的蛇捉住并放归大自然,并且她还为她的捕蛇技术申请发明专利。难度适中,但文章较长,对学生来说还是有障碍。
Teaching aims 教学目标
1. Knowledge goals知识目标
Ss get to know the procedure of creating an invention and applying for a patent by learning a story of catching the snakes. 通过抓蛇故事了解发明创造以及申请专利的方法步骤。
2. Ability goal能力目标
Ss practice their reading skills such as skimming and scanning and learn some tips for reading comprehension. 通过阅读技巧的指导,提高学生略读和寻读能力。
3. Emotional goals情感目标
Ss know we may not succeed at once when trying something new. The most important thing is to learn from failure and never give up. 鼓励学生多从失败中总结经验,坚持尝试最后才可以获得成功。

2. Guessing game: Guess what invention it is! 以小组竞赛形式,让学生根据描述猜测发明,引入本课文的话题,同时调动学生的学习热情与积极性。
